A Lemon Is Going to Tokyo 🍋

Hong Kong · 9 August 2026

I’m still unpacking from Berlin. There’s a suitcase in the corner of the room that I keep walking around instead of opening. The second stop of my debut solo tour wrapped in July and my body hasn’t quite agreed to be back yet :P

So this is a strange time to be writing “good news.” But here it is.

Sour Notes 🍋 is leaving the basket.

We’ve been invited to a group show in Tokyo. NAFAS Festival Tokyo, presented by The Invisible Dog (New York City) and BUoY Arts Center (Tokyo). Bringing together 60 international artists, the festival features 12 events, performances, workshops, and residencies centered around one theme: The meeting of art and food.

An artist who paints produce. A festival about art and food. I’ve been describing it to friends as being “positively intercepted” — we were supposed to go straight from Berlin to Kuala Lumpur, and instead a detour opened up on the map and we said yes.

Why this one, of all of them?

Sour Notes is the very first piece that truly opened doors for my artistic journey — an ongoing experimental project that started in a bedroom and somehow ended up on a tour. It’s a basket of lemons watching the door of a corner store. It looks cheerful. It isn’t, entirely. That’s sort of the point of it, and I’ll write the whole story down properly before it flies — it deserves more than a paragraph.

For now, here are the details:

Drop by if you’re in Tokyo. If Tokyo is a little far — the shop wakes up when the show does. I’ll say more about that closer to the day ;)

The gentlehumans on my collector’s list hear these things first — and when the shop wakes up, they get a little something. If you’d like to be one of them, the door is here…

All for now,
