The Lemon Has Landed
Tokyo · 28 August 2026
One short update from Tokyo.
Galleries ship paintings in wooden crates, with gloves and paperwork and serious people. Sour Notes 🍋 came to Tokyo wrapped by hand, on the plane with us from Hong Kong :P
The lemon’s first flight.
For the record: bubble wrap until it stopped looking like a painting, then cling film until it stopped looking like anything. A basket of lemons, checked in next to the suitcases.
It felt right, honestly. This painting started its life in my bedroom-studio — of course it flies with the rest of us.
On the 28th August — it went up on the wall at BUoY Arts Center, an old bowling-alley-turned-arts-centre in Adachi City — and once upon a time, a public bath.

And if Tokyo is a little far — my shop wakes up when the show does. September 4.
If you’d rather not check back here — my diary can come to you. My list gets the studio first, the shop first, and sometimes a small thank-you.
All for now,
